April 26, 2019 – Join Rungh at DOXA for three screenings on May 9 and May 10, as we explore Longing and Belonging: 1990s South Asian Film and Video. An exciting period in Canadian cultural production is explored in three separate programs: Dispora (short films by Ian Rashid and Leila Sujir); Desire (short films by Shani Mootoo, Ian Rashid, Kaspar Saxena, and Michelle Mohabeer); and Shooting Indians: A Journey with Jeffrey Thomas (a feature length documentary featuring Ali Kazimi and Jeffrey Thomas – both WINNERS of the 2019 Governor General's Award in Visual and Media Arts). October 17, 2018 – Recollective: Vancouver Independent Archives Week 2018 is a series of free public events, panels, conversations, and screenings that highlight artist-run centre archives, artists working with archives, and the intersections between contemporary art practices and social movements in Vancouver. August 16, 2018 – Rungh is pleased to announce that the prestigious Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, in its 85th year anniversary, has entered into a Sponsorship with Rungh for Rungh’s Archive Creation Program. With the support of the Banff Centre, Rungh will be able to grow it’s program which focusses on activating the Rungh archive through events, creation projects, research, mentorship and a year round program of activity. The Banff Centre Sponsorship will serve to encourage additional funding from various sources for this exciting and innovative program.

May 28, 2018 - Rungh is happy to be a Media Partner for 'Desis in the Diaspora' featuring the art work of Jagdeep Singh Raina. The show is being presented by the South Asian Studies Institute at University of the Fraser Valley and other presenting and funding partners.

The event will be held on Sunday June 10, 3-5pm at Sikh Heritage Museum, at 33089 South Fraser Way, Abbotsford, BC, with the artist in attendance.

March 5, 2018 - IBPOC Victoria will he hosting a public forum at Open Space in Victoria on Saturday, March 10 at 2 PM. This event is independent of Open Space. The text of their Facebook post is reproduced here.

March 5, 2018 – The University of Victoria, Department of Writing has released a letter written to Open Space, Executive Director, Kegan McFadden, supporting the ACC-CAA Boycott. The letter can be found here.

As of March 5, 2018, over 80 individuals and institutions across Canada had signed the Boycott petition.

March 2, 2018 – Rungh has received a response from Sandra Hudson, a communications consultant, authorized by Open Space to respond. The text of the email received is here.

Sunday, February 25, 2018 - Aboriginal Curatorial Collective/ Collectif des commissaires autochtones (ACC/CCA) issued a "Call to Boycott Open Space Arts Society's Call for a 'Curator of Exhibitions' " today in response to the resignation of Open Space's Aboriginal Curator, France Trépanier. February 20, 2018 - Rungh has received a public resignation letter from France Trepanier, the former Aboriginal Curator at Open Space, effective February 20, 2018. The text of the whole letter is printed here. Rungh has sent a note to Open Space requesting a written response from the Chair of the Board of Directors.

January 10, 2018 – In partnership with Centre A, Rungh has formed a new Archive/Creation Group. This group will work to activate the Rungh archive and create new content as Rungh moves forward in making its archive more accessible and in developing educational resources which incorporate the archive.

October 6, 2017 – Rungh is pleased to announce its partnership with Simon Fraser University (SFU) for SFU, Special Collections and Rare Books at the W.A.C. Bennett Library, to commence the digitization of the Rungh archive.
